abstract="The problems faced by the U.S. Air Force due a an alarming rise in the number of suicide deaths are discussed. It is found that most of the self-inflicted deaths are caused by either by stress, financial and legal problems, or substance abuse. The 11 initiatives program, developed by the the Integrated Delivery System (IDS) and the Community Action Information Board (CAIB), as a measure to minimize or eliminate such problems are also discussed.
