abstract="Several aspects related to the historical chemical events of the early 1900s and their effects on the society are discussed. The laughing gas demonstration witnessed by Horace Wells in 1844 made him realize that it was a key to anesthesia. Well administered anesthesia to a patient in a low volume resulting in the near-death of the patient. Finally, Wells was imprisoned on the charges of lobbing sulfuric acid at some prostitutes where he committed suicide.<p />",
