abstract="The impact of the combination of the drop in the number of births and the increase in the life expectancy, which demographers describe as 'demographic suicide', on the Europe's economic sector is discussed. In terms of global economic competitiveness, Europe will have to use the expedient of mass immigration in order to recoup the loss of 100 million inhabitants in less than 50 years. In societal challenge for transport, highly fragmented mobility needs and deteriorating individual capacities are requiring demand-responsive actions. Treating seniors as a priority issue from the age of 50 onwards would give around ten years to prepare an enhanced modal choice for when they stop working.<p />",
