abstract="In order to investigate the effect of different electric fields on gas explosion generation, the flame speed and peak overpressure under uniform electric fields and electrode fields were measured. Flame and pressure transducers were used to track the explosion front velocity. It was found that flame speed (Sf) and peak overpressure (Pmax) were higher under the uniform electric field, and they show an upward trend with increasing applied voltage. The flame speed decreases and the peak overpressure reduces under the electrode field. It was concluded that the mechanism of the effect of uniform and electrode electric field on gas explosion generation was different. The uniform electric field increases the ion collision probability to quicken reaction and result in violence explosion. The electrode field weakens L-D instabilities and diffusive instabilities to decrease the explosion strength. The results can be references in how to improve the combustion efficiency and suppress gas explosion.<p />",
