abstract="This report deals with 609 car accidents in which 691 children (up to 10 years of age) were injured as car occupants. These accidents are based on a total number of 28,936 accidents with injured occupants, which the German insurers have analyzed since 1969. We have studied the question of whether children are more seriously injured than adults and what is the injury risk for children on front and rear seats. The report gives the nature and frequency of the injuries to children. Injuries to various parts of the body are also indicated dependent on the children's age.<p />",
