abstract="10.7% of Americans are 65 years or older and account for 24% of disabling injuries. Physiological changes associated with aging and relatively higher frequency of home accidents involving the aged suggest home modification which can reduce the frequency and severity of these injuries. This paper suggests some such modifications by exploring the background of the problem, discussing the existing safety features of newer and older houses, and proposing safety education programs for the adults.<p /><p>Language: en</p>",
