abstract="Drivers' eye-movement amplitude and fixation duration are studied in four simulated traffic flow conditions: (1) within free-flow mode, (2) under maximum flow conditions, (3) within congested-flow mode, and (4) on an urban street between signalized intersections. Of major interest is the possible correlation between eye-movement data and drivers' attention demands. This correlation is based on an uncertainty theoretical model which provides a quantitative approach for evaluating drivers' attention level in various traffic flow conditions. Some applications to traffic flow phenomena are presented.<p /><p>Language: en</p>",
