abstract="The paper presents an account of how the Brazilian police selects people who will suffer control actions that may be the result of or generate processes of stigmatization, deviation or discrimination against minorities. The method is comprehensive and attempts to identify correlations between the concepts of stigmatization, deviation and discrimination and violent police actions resulting from standard operational procedure, criminal repression, discrimination against the poor and minorities or police racism, generating new perspectives on the phenomena presented.
