abstract="American psychologists, while they surely are free to communicate their experimental results, must wait for varying periods of as long as, or longer than, one year before the centimeter by which they have pushed science ahead is measured by their colleagues. Thus, it is the purpose of this note to admit of this restrictive situation and to suggest a means of dealing more effectively with it. The authors of this letter to the editor propose that all titles of papers accepted for publication by psychological journals be made known to researchers who may then communicate with the authors for more "pre-publication" detail if they so desire.
