abstract="In this paper, a certain type of cars side impact performance is discussed. The purpose is to express the relationship of the side impact response and safety. First, A certain cars Finite Element Model (FEM) is established which is based on a logical method to solve the problem during the modeling process; Then, analysis the evaluation indexes of side impact safety, traces the designing and manufacturing process, got the side impact feature and point test data of this type of car, and verified the practicability of simulation result in the car developing process. Finally, express the connection between the side impact response and safety of this car, aiming at discussing the effective method of whole car side impact mode and response evaluation.<p />",
