abstract="Alcohol strength, fusel oils by VPC (vapor phase chromatography) or gas chromatography and copper content by AA (atomic absorption) spectroscopy are reported for commercial and illicit spirits. Illicit spirits have been differentiated from commercial liquor. Generally, illicit spirits have a wide range of ethyl alcohol concentrations, are higher in fusel oils and probably contain higher trace amounts of copper than commercial liquor. Alcohol strength, fusel oils by VPC and copper content by AA are reported for commercial and illicit spirits.<p />",
