abstract="Based on the results of two previous publications a new method is suggested to replace the titration in the original procedure of Widmark which was based on the change in coloric saturation of the liquid under investigation K2Cr2O7 as a function of the alcoholic concentration compared with a blank value. A linear relationship between the two variables is demonstrated both numerically and graphically. The advantages - increased accuracy of 38% - and disadvantages - increased equipment requirements and computation - are pointed out.<p />",
