abstract="After consumption of alcoholic beverages the included congeners can be found in blood and urine samples of the consumer. Their relative urine concentrations are very similar to those of the respective drinks. The blood concentrations are influenced by different resorption deficiencies depending on carbon-chain length, which is probably explicable by the decreasing water solubility. In consideration of these deficiencies and of the elimination rates of the higher aliphatic alcohols, not only a specific analytical characterization of the consumed beverage seems to be possible but also an approximate estimation of the drinking time. For statistical reasons extensive supplementary experiments are necessary and have already been initiated.<p />",
