abstract="After almost 3 decades of scientific research, D1 measures have moved up from the trial stages to being an integral part of the reaction to erroneous driving. The scientifically proven reduction of a risk of re-offending in connection with taking the D1 course has lead to their becoming an appropriate complement or a suitable replacement for government sanctions such as z13 or the withdrawal of driving licences. Future use of D1 measures will include the broadening of its area of application as well as sustained quality assurance.<p />",
