abstract="In a study with 55 guinea-pigs, the alcohol distribution was investigated in the liquid portion of the stomach contents, the blood and the individual organs after oral administration of alcohol at times varying between 10 and 300 min after the first dose. The distribution was calculated as the mean value of the results in 5 animals. It was found that even after the onset of the diffusion equilibrium the water-alcohol concentration in tissue was clearly lower than the corresponding water-alcohol concentration in blood. On the other hand distinct differences in the pattern of distribution were found during the separate phases of the alcohol metabolism.<p />",
