abstract="The study was carried out over 3 weeks. Twelve healthy men, aged 18-37, received ethanol in a single dose of 0,84g/kg body weight. In the first week, vodka, in the next two-wine and beer, respectively, were applied. Blood was collected from the ulnar vein before the alcohol administration and after approximately 5-7 h, i.e. in the final stage of the alcoholemia. The levels of magnesium, zinc and copper were determined using atomic absorption spectrophotometry, of sodium and potassium by electrochemical spectrophotometry, and of calcium by colorimetric assay. The study revealed that a single vodka consumption resulted in a statistically significant (p=0,03) decrease of the magnesium concentration and a near significant (p=0,06) decrease of zinc concentration. Wine and beer consumption did not induce significant changes in trace element-levels as wine and beer contain abundant amounts of those elements.<p />",
