abstract="The author attempts to show a correlation between criminality, alcohol indulgence and traffic offences by means of a traffic-psychological evaluation of the statistical category: ''Administration of Justice' of the Federal Republic of Germany. 43.7% of the accused in culpable homicide, bodily injury and hit and run cases whilst under the influence, had previous convictions in contrast with 25.4% of the accused with the same offences committed while sober. The total cases of death or injury caused while under the influence rose by 22.7% from 1969 to 1973 whereas in the same period the number of cases of culpable homicide occurring in the absence of alcohol decreased by 0.8%. Cases of culpable homicide and bodily injury caused by juveniles while under the influence increased between 1969 and 1973 by 145.6% (in the case of adults by 18.1%). The author stresses the high incidence of previously convicted persons (48.3%) in this group, identified as driving under the influence but without causing an accident (with accidents 43.2%). She recommends measures to improve traffic safety by intensified alcohol control in traffic, medico-psychological examinations and/or directed educational measures for alcohol abusers including enlightening of the population with regard to minimizing the importance of the alcohol offences.<p />",
