abstract="In a group of 24 males and 26 females, breath-alcohol measurements were performed using an infrared-absorption measuring device (ALCOTEST 7010). Aim and purpose of the study were to examine former statements about the applicability of breath-alcohol measurements in comparison with the determination of blood-alcohol concentration. A further aim was to obtain generally accepted evidence regarding the course of the breath-alcohol concentration after short-time alcohol consumption. In comparison to the breath-alcohol curves of different persons, the theoretical possible maximum concentration and the speed of alcohol elimination proved to be important parameters. Repeated measurements show that the elimination speed of alcohol can remain constant for the same person for several years.<p />",
