abstract="The author reports about the different ways and programmes by the aid of which one tries in the USA to 'treat' deviant drivers so that they apply themselves to adopt a 'suitable' behaviour. A special position within these programmes is taken by the rehabilitation of drivers who are alcohol-deviant. Instructive examples of such programmes, which differ from state to state are reported from New York, Wisconsin, Alabama, and Phoenix (Arizona). The study of these programmes shows a broad scale of stimulations in regard to methods, contents, and organization (also as to the technical statutory level) which could have a role also in the development of a corresponding German model. The planning, however, should take into special consideration that after the ending of the measures their effect can be examined.<p />",
