abstract="On the basis of a new classification according to types of accident, the author examines the records of accidents on the roads of the German Federal Republic and analyzes the accidents involving injuries with reference to road accident trends between 1966 and 1970. Significant combinations of certain characteristics rather than individual characteristics are evaluated statistically. Accidents ascribable to the intake of alcohol are examined in depth. The findings presented in a number of tables are explained.<p />",
