abstract="Of 259 alcoholics studied, 173 were primary alcoholics. Familial positive primary alcoholics tended to have earlier onset of alcoholism and males seemed to have more complications from drinking. Family study data indicated that the familial positive group had family pedigrees more likely to contain relatives with antisocial personality disorder.
