abstract="The alcohol consumption patterns of adult South Australians were surveyed by the Australian Bureau of Statistics in October 1983. <br><br>RESULTS indicate that, since 1977, there has been a significant increase in alcohol consumption by women, while the overall consumption of alcohol, particularly beer, by older men has significantly decreased.
