abstract="OBJECTIVE To investigate the association between physical mobility demands and social and clinical variables of the elderly living in the community.<br><br>METHODS This was a cross-sectional study including 52 elderly community residents. The research instrument was constructed based on the theory of Virginia Henderson. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and the chi-square or Fisher exact test, with a significance level of 0.05.<br><br>RESULTS The mean age was 72.6 (± 8.6) years, 69.2% were female. There was a prevalence of physical mobility demands, with significant statistical associations with social and clinical variables.<br><br>CONCLUSION Physical mobility was influenced by social and clinical characteristics of the elderly in the community.Key words: Aged; Mobility limitation; Geriatric nursing; Nursing in community health; Primary care nursing<p /> <p>Language: en</p>",
