abstract="<p>Editorial: Bullying is an intentional, unprovoked abuse of power by one or more adolescents. It causes mental distress and physical pain to the victim. Bullying amongst students in India has been reported historically but in recent years the incidents have increased and new methods of bullying are used. School violence has become a topic of great concern as shooting and MMS scandals are reported frequently at schools.  In the study by Malhi et al. [1] published in this issue of the journal, authors have reported 53 % prevalence of bullying behavior in schools. It is a matter of great concern that why and how in a country like India, where peace and nonviolence are preached has the most aggressive adolescents as compared to any other country. This finding raises many questions on school and family environment of our adolescents. One of the significant precipitating factor for bullying was frustration due to the academic difficulties.
