abstract="The health status of young children systematically engaged in swimming was evaluated with account of the physiological characteristics and results of an analysis of the anamnestic and catamnestic data. The health-improving effect of the swimming was noted, being more pronounced in children with risk factors. It was established that swimming did not produce any undesirable vegetative alterations. The possibility of its use as a means of the improvement and correction of children's development based on their individual characteristics is discussed.
