abstract="It is estimated that between 5,000 and 7.000 children between 0 and 14 years of age die every year in the Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) region in road crashes. Many of them are car passengers travelling without the protection offered by child safety seat. This study examines the feasibility of improving the child passenger legislation in five countries in the region (Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay) considered representative of the whole LAC region. The study considers the following key dimensions: legislation, market and information. As its final output, the study proposed a model legislation on child car restraints for the region, as well as various recommendations both at regional level and at national level for the five countries included in the analysis.<p /> <p>Language: es</p>",
