abstract="<p>The response to my editorial, much of it from parents of children injured playing rugby, has been extensive and illuminating. Trewartha and Stokes’s communication deserves special attention because much of it relates to work sponsored by the sports regulatory body in England. I agree that injury prevention initiatives and injury surveys have increased over the past couple of years.  Parents and increasingly some authors suggest that injury is more of a problem than is generally accepted....
