abstract="These studies aimed at the development of natural fibre containing nonwoven fabrics with limited flammability. For 100% cellulosic fabrics, the presence of a flame retardant was essential for good fire performance, while for blended wool/hemp fabrics, (Wo + Hemp), moderate flame retardant levels were achieved without the addition of chemical treatment. Using cone calorimetry and LOI methods, fire performances were determined and all burning samples emitted low amounts of CO2 although noticeable levels of CO2 were evident.<p />",
