The study by Reger et al published in JAMA Psychiatry [72(6):561-569] reported that deployment history was not associated with suicide death among military personnel who had deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan. Their results converge with several previously published studies but contradict findings obtained from other studies, thereby again raising the question about whether deployment is a risk factor for suicide among military personnel....
