abstract="The main selection criterion for the new Linz trams was the excellent overall efficiency and proven technology. The realisation of this solution choice will be provided by a 100 % lowfloor vehicle. Space for axle bogies was provided via longitudinal ramps inside the vehicle with less than 5 % gradient. Thanks to conventional bogies with bolster, not only better riding behaviour was reached, but also a better total efficiency was obtained - thus reducing, for instance, components required such as drive, brake and so on. The design of the vehicle was adapted to the townscape of Linz, which is a futureminded city with an old inner city rich in tradition. For people disabled in mobility (baby carriages, bicycles and wheelchairs) a so called multi-purpose-area was constructed. In addition, another attractive factor played an important role in the vehicle's selection, which was the improvement of the entrance area and the low platform heights.<p /><p>Language: de</p>",
