abstract="The article focuses on human smuggling and trafficking in Australia. It discusses the recent changes of the smuggling and trafficking law in the country. It states that Australia has adopted a &quot;whole of government&quot; approach in dealing with human smuggling. It notes that there is huge cooperation between several agencies having roles to play in the area of enforcement including Australian Federal Police (AFP) and DIMA People Smuggling Strike Team. It elaborates that trafficking is different from smuggling for the Australian offences of slavery and sexual servitude are formulated in Criminal Act not in Migration Act.
