abstract="This article examines some of the other elements of driver distraction, beyond not keeping one's eyes on the road. Cognitive distraction can lead drivers to misjudge conditions and needs to be taken into consideration for driver training programs. New or unfamiliar tasks draw drivers' eyes away from the road, which has led to a tentative finding that tasks that take a driver more than 15 seconds to do in a car that is standing still are too distracting to execute while it is in motion. This could lead to standards for in-car devices.<p /><p>Language: en</p>",
