abstract="The results of a study to develop illumination guidelines for nighttime highway work are presented. Nighttime highway construction activities were identified and the seeing-task visual requirements for work activities were determined. Suggested illumination levels and lighting configurations were developed. In addition, hazard glare-control counter-measures were developed.
