abstract="We reviewed the research evaluating procedures for teaching abduction prevention skills to children. We first described the types of skills that were taught and the types of abduction situations and assessment strategies that were utilized to evaluate training. Next, we described the individual and group training procedures and their outcomes. The research demonstrates that children can learn abduction prevention skills through behavioral skills training procedures, and that individual training is generally more effective than group training.
