abstract="Recent estimates suggest that over one million children run away from their homes each year. The incidence of running away has increased significantly during the last 10 years and is presently considered to be a major social problem. While youths running away have been the focus of a good deal of research, there remains considerable confusion regarding runaway behavior. This paper reviews the existing literature regarding runaway children, much of which is descriptive in nature, and offers suggestions for further exploration of the etiology and, more importantly, for research on the treatment of runaway behavior.<p /><p>Language: en</p>",
