abstract="The case study is one method for presenting data on an ecobehavioral approach to treat and prevent child abuse and neglect. Presented here is a review of of methodologies and arguments supporting ecobehavioral approaches with children, and a case study treating several problems in a family indicated for child neglect. A changing criterion design was used to evaluate the effectiveness of a home cleanliness program. A home-school feedback system improved the personal hygiene of the four children, and a multiply baseline across children demonstrated the effectiveness of a toothbrushing program. In addition to these efforts, help was offered with nutrition, social support, and stress reduction. Through these intensive services, this previously dysfunctional family has been allowed to remain intact.<p /><p>Language: en</p>",
