abstract="War is an effective factor in incidence and promotion of psychological and behavioral problems such as post-traumatic stress disorder. This study aimed to determine the quality of life and its correlation with age and percent of injury in war veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder. This was a cross-sectional study, which included 70 war veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder. This study focused on the quality of life with SF36. The results indicated that war veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder had the least scores in physical, emotional and social function subclasses of SF36 questionnaire. There was significant correlation between quality of life and percent of injury (p = 0/039) but no significant correlation between quality of life and age. Post-traumatic stress disorder results in low quality of life in war veterans. Percent of injury significantly reduces their quality of life.
