abstract="Reasons for differences in behaviour on sloping land among wheeled tractors are sought. Relevant aspects of behaviour, e.g. safety and tractive ability, depend largely on the values of the normal to ground components of the wheel/ground reactions. Equations are presented from which to find these values when a tractor is moving with uniform velocity directly uphill. Reasons for the changes from the static values on level land occasioned by slope and other factors are discussed. It is concluded that differences in these changes among tractors attributable to features of the machines are sufficient to result in differences in their behaviours on slopes.<p /><p>Language: en</p>",
