abstract="A new design for a tractor hitch, which can replace the existing basic types, is described. The hitch comprises a cardanic suspension beneath the tractor, a turntable and 2 hydraulically operated hooks for the connection to the implement. A main feature of the hitch is the combination of 3-point linkage and a trailer hitch--including hydraulic weight transfer. The design is only applicable in its prototype version for high clearance tractors, e.g. tractors with hub type final drives. The hitch opens the possibilities of substantial simplification on the implement side. So for semi-mounted equipment, the turntable is a useful built-in pivot point. For a rear-mounted loader the hitch allows for ±65° side to side turning. The hitch also allows for a built-in safety device for side-mounted equipment. Used in connection with tractors with a suitable hydraulic system, weight transfer for better traction can be obtained and better stability rendered by cornering with 2-wheeled trailers. The hitch includes the performance of a 2 stage quick coupler, as a supplemental top link is needed for "3-point" connections.

Language: en
",
