abstract="This article presents the results of a three-part study, the result of which is that, given the identity of the wood involved, its location from a burning pool, and the initial mass of the burning fuel, one can calculate the time at which the wood will ignite. The limits of applicability are discussed. The experimentally-measured radiation intensity from a flame is empirically described by an equation, which is then used to determine the high-flux limit of the ignition time of wood exposed to such radiation. <p>Language: en</p>",
