abstract="The article reviews issues of maintenance and improvement of driver's reliability after a road accident. Due to psychological traumas caused by road accidents, drivers may constantly experience fear or fright. As a result, when driving, the driver is slow. According to drivers' test results, individual psychological severity regarding the accident forms in a person involved in such accident, which is conditioned by its intensity and duration. The post-accident syndrome (individual psychological severity) depends on physiological and psychological capabilities of a particular driver. A new method of assessing psychological severity of accidents, based on long-term observations of drivers and other people involved in road accidents, is proposed. A new interpretation of the common definition of the post-accident syndrome is given and criteria of this concept are determined. A method and a sequence of escaping the post-accident syndrome by those involved in road accidents is formulated. Based on the statistical analysis, a classification of post-accident syndrome types is suggested. A new concept "psychological severity of an accident" is proposed.

Language: en
",
