In this case, 15 minutes of exposure were significant enough to manifest as severe dehydration requiring fluid resuscitation and hospital admission. This prompts one to think of how much the public is unaware of the risks of sunbed overexposure particularly when technology changes lead to increases in UV dose with shorter exposures. Furthermore, what is the extent of responsibility of the individual proprietor to supply comprehensive information to their customers, considering the dangers? Should there not be some form of legislation to protect the less informed members of public among us?
