abstract="Studies on suicide seasonality are significant, as they may assist in understanding the factors that contribute to suicidal behavior. Although some studies don't confirm the existence of seasonal variation, most of them, both from the Northern as well as the Southern hemisphere, indicate the existence of seasonal variation for suicides. We also summarized the influence of potential demographic and clinical characteristics such as age, gender, socioeconomic status, methods of suicide, and co-morbid psychiatric and medical diseases. Comprehensive evaluation of risk factors which could be linked to the seasonal variation in suicide is important, not only to identify the major driving force for the seasonality of suicide, but also could lead to better suicide prevention in general.<p /> <p>Language: en</p>",
