abstract="<i>Plesiomonas shigelloides</i> is a gram-negative bacillus that most commonly causes self-limited diarrhea in humans. Extraintestinal manifestations of <i>P. shigelloides</i>, including skin and soft tissue infections, are extremely uncommon.
