abstract="A recent systematic review and meta-analysis by Amouei et al. (2020) reported on the association between Toxoplasma gondii and suicidal ideation (SI) and suicide attempts (SA). The meta-analysis included 27 studies and found that SI prevalence was not significantly different in terms of T. gondii infection (pooled prevalence: 0.90, 95% CI: 0.42, 1.94), but that T. gondii infection was significantly associated with SA (odds ratio [OR]: 1.57, 95% CI: 1.23, 2.00). The research is valuable but there are a few shortcomings, and we further discuss this topic.<p /> <p>Language: en</p>",
