abstract="In this paper, the sensitivity of the distributions of force and torque peaks to the distributions of the model inputs are analyzed for a very simple linkage model. The geometric and mechanical parameters are taken from the Beier, McConville, and Ewing-Thomas datasets. A Kalman filter model is presently under development for NBDL, to provide optimal determination of head/neck kinematic time traces and their associated error statistics. However, the time traces and statistics used in our simulations are based on a statistical curve fitting and regression approach due to Watkins and Guccione. This provides a method for determining the effect of acceleration input and initial head position parameters on the head/ neck dynamics.<p />",
