abstract="In a drinking experiment study the per mille killer "Break Down" that claims to have a sobering effect was tested. Ethyl alcohol was given in a dose 1 g/kg body weight to 7 persons who took Break Down according to the manufacturer's recommendation as well as to 7 control persons. Blood alcohol concentration was measured every 30 min over a time period of 6 hrs Blood alcohol curves showed no alterations after ingestion of Break Down compared with the control group . The individual elimination rates ((beta)60) with mean 0.17 (per mille) for the test collective and mean 0.18 (per mille) for the control group showed no statistically relevant variation (p greater than 0.05). Caution is advised about so-called "scientific" investigations that are performed by laymen and supposedly to prove an increased elimination of alcohol. This possibly leads to a misguidance of consumers and thereby to a danger regarding the safety to traffic.
",
