abstract="PURPOSE: The present study was conducted to examine the relationship between men's gender motivation and violence tendencies. DESIGN AND METHODS: The sample of this descriptive study consisted of 450 male participants. The data were collected using a descriptive questionnaire, Gender Motivation Scale and Violence Tendency Scale. <br><br>FINDINGS: It was found that there was a negative and moderate correlation between feminine norms with intrinsic motivation and violence tendency scores (p < 0.05). A positive and moderate correlation was found between masculine norms with extrinsic motivation and violence tendency scores (p < 0.05). PRACTICE IMPLATICATIONS: Effective therapeutic strategy activities involving men with dominant masculine norms as a special group should be given priority to improve gender motivation and violence tendency outcomes.<p /> <p>Language: en</p>",
