abstract="The traffic conflict technique is a new evaluating method based on no-accident statistics in traffic safety field. Being different from traditional method of accident statistical evaluation, it evaluated traffic safety situation rapidly, quantitatively and with multi-sample. In this study, the traffic conflict technique and system clustering theory are utilized to evaluate the road intersection safety. The ratio of traffic conflict and mixed passenger car unit (TC/MPCU) are used for the safety evaluation factor. Concretely, the TC/MPCU of morning climax, common and evening climax are considered. The method of system clustering for safety evaluation based on traffic conflict technique is established, which provides a new way of safety evaluation at intersection. A case result shows that the method is convenient and precise, with simple factor used.<p />",
