abstract="In this paper numerical modeling of fire development in a single compartment of a railway passenger car has been performed using the FDS software. The simulation was focused on the dynamic calculation of temperature field and heat release rate. Obtained simulation results were compared with experimental results and satisfactory agreement was detected.
